In the summer of 2019, I assisted in the construction of over 50 playing surfaces for sand soccer, sand volleyball, and sand flag football on the beaches of Virginia Beach, Virginia for the annual North American Sand Soccer Championships. This was the extent of my volunteerism as my team competed in the tournament (runner-up finish) and was unable to assist with other duties during the weekend of events.
